The Lang Park Dojo is well equipped for all facets of Karate training. A brief list of the facilities is provided below the photograph.

Punching the Makiwara
A student practices Gyaku-zuki (reverse punch) on a Makiwara.

  • The Dojo floor is constructed of polished wood and is sprung so that impact is absorbed.
  • Impact mitts. These can be described as padded baseball mitts and can therefore be used to present a small moving target.
  • Large portable impact bags. These simulate the torso and are held by one person so that another may practice kicks and punches on a moving target.
  • Heavy-weight punch bags (hanging). These provide a heavy, solid target for kicking and punching.
  • Strong fans are provided on each side of the Dojo to provide cool relief during summer training.
